Ocean Academy opened in 2008 as the very first high school on the Caribbean island of Caye Caulker, in Belize, Central America. The small non-profit community school is able to offer equitable access to education because of individual donations and grants. In addition to core academics, enrichment areas include marine biology, scuba, windsurf and kayak P.E., small business skills, apprenticeships. Caye Caulker youth can finally pursue an education on their own island, and have opportunities to further their academic
